POSITION SUMMARY: Based in New York City, LE TOTE is looking to hire an entrepreneurial individual to lead the buying strategy for apparel and accessories. As the leader of the LE TOTE merchandising team, you will lead the development and execution of assortments to drive top and bottom line results. We are looking for an autonomous leader who enjoys putting together the puzzle pieces in a start-up environment. This person has a deep understanding of the customer, a love of product, analysis, and data, and a keen eye for emerging trends in the rental digital space. Reports into the CMO and works in parallel with the Lord&Taylor.com buying team to determine common and differentiated assortment strategies with vendor partners DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and execute a customer focused rental merchandising strategy Analyze and understand specific rental KPIs in order to optimize inventory spend/cash flow and maximize subscriber engagement Utilize analytical acumen to drive decision making around key categories, items and vendor mix Build strong vendor partnerships to drive the needs for rental (product attributes, cost etc) Strategically scout new vendor partnerships to support key product strategies always with an eye to success within the rental space Understand competitors strengths, weaknesses and strategy Maintain and manage the website to give our members the best possible e-commerce experience including the oversight of pushing products to the site and creating collections to meet seasonal supply/demand needs Work with the marketing team to determine product and trend stories Foster an environment that sets the example for development of direct reports through delegation, teaching, and coaching WORK EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 5 years experience in e-commerce buying with rental and off price buying experience a plus Deep knowledge of apparel fabrications, silhouettes and attributes Highly organized and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities Strategic thinker, agile, and nimble, with a flexible, open minded approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly skilled in Excel/Pivot Tables, knowledge of Looker to drive decision making Strong negotiation skills Ability to work well with all levels of management, build partnerships, and direct teams
